Punisher Short Film: Dirty Laundry
I was far from a comic book nerd as a kid, but I was a huge fan of The Punisher. Frank Castle’s vigilante exploits after his family is murdered by gangsters struck me as extremely edgy and much less cartoony than other comic characters. Sadly, the big screen efforts to capture the story of Castle have fallen woefully short. Dolph Lundgren’s turn was laughable. Thomas Jane was better, but the writing and directing ruined its potential. Well, Jane still has a soft spot for the role, so he made what he calls a “fan film” called Dirty Laundry that better illustrates the darkness and violence inside The Punisher universe.
Nicely done, but that’s one strong bottle of Jack Daniel’s.
